           IMPORTANT WORDS TO NOTE 1.       Awutu– The main language spoken by the people of Awutu-Bireku, Akotsi, Badwiase etc. 2.       Efutu – The language spoken by the brothers of the Awutus. They are Ojobi, Senya-Bireku, Winneba, Kweikrom and more 3.       Gua – The language spoken by the people of Anum-Boso 4.       Larteh – The Language spoken by the people of Larteh 5.       Anufor – The Language spoken by the Chakosi people 6. Kyipon - the language spoken mainly by the people of Abiriw, parts of Akropong and Tutu,  Dawu. Awukugua, Adukrom, Apirede, Aseseeso, Akuni, Abonsen and some communities around Koforidua.   Larteh is a Ga-Akan Related Guan language spoken in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It is most closely related to Awutu, Gua and Kyripon which are all members of the Ga-Akan Related Guan languages. THE KPELE DEITIES OF THE GA-DANGME PEOPLE

INTRODUCTION (stilll under writing by Huniah Tetteh. All rights reserved) The Ga-Dangme people have inhabitted the coast of Ghana for over eight (8) centuries. They speak the Ga and the Dangme languages respectively. Ga and Dangme are closely related languages which have diverged over time due to influences from neighbouring Guan, Akan and Ewe languages; not to forget the grand influence of English, Dutch and Portuguese on these two beautiful languages. Kpele  is the main religion of the Ga-Dangme people. There is the annual celebration of Kpele which is called  Kpelejoo  in Ga and  Kpele domi  in Dangme and they mean the same thing. During Kpelejoo or Kpele domi, spirits are called upon to descend so as to celebrate the end of the year  with mankind. This would definitely come as a shock to you so, we would now take our time to explain vividly, the concept of Kpele and its significance to the Ga-Dangme ethnic group of Ghana and Togo.
